Antirealists Murdoch is Murdoch University's anarchist-occultist club. We're putting the political ideas of Anarcho-Antirealism, or Soulism, into practice by using myth and magick to understand and express our diverse identities, and work towards a future free of capitalist oppression and realist bigotry.
The fight against colonial imposition of what european invaders described as "reality" began here in the days of Yagan. But it was not until 2020 that the terms "anarcho-antirealism" and "soulism" were coined, emerging from leftist mystery cults and internet memes respectively. Over the next three years, multiple online movements emerged using these terms to describe themselves. Antirealists Murdoch was started in April of 2024 by members of these movements in order to bring soulism into the material world of Boorloo and create an Australian antirealist movement.
We have weekly meetings where we educate each other and discuss various anarchist and occult topics in an informal workshop format. Upcoming topics include sigil magick, understanding xenogenders and other microlabels, and inclusive polytheism. We also play board games and watch anarchist movies. We welcome members of any faith and/or magical tradition to come and share their own knowledge, if they feel comfortable. We also plan to engage in actions and collaborate with other political groups.
